Book Review: Managing Oneself

Book Author: Peter Drucker

This is a short read. He recommends doing feedback analysis. Examine your behavior and identify what you are good at. Write down predictions and check in on them later. Do a time audit.

I heartily recommend these practices. Self-analysis is at the hard of growth and getting good objective perspective on yourself is worth its weight in diamonds.

Much of the book focuses on this type of introspection. He goes on to discuss strategies about learning how you learn best.

How to identify your strengths and double down on them.

Knowing yourself is the first step to managing yourself. I would add that it’s also important to understand how behaviors are changed. Great practical reads here are Atomic Habits and Awaken the Giant Within.

I’d also recommended Thinking Fast and Thinking Slow by Daniel Kahneman.
